Ok,

I've had $140 rejected for a 4star, and $120 for a 3star... :)

Is there something extra special going on in Chicago this weekend? Any and all advise is welcome...

Thanks

There must be a convention going on this weekend, I haven't looked to confirm yet. What I find very strange, however, is that there is clearly inventory at hotels downtown, and regular rate services have rooms for under $200 at the 3* and 4* level. You bidding up to $140 for these dates and not getting anything and seeing hotels available on Orbitz for $199 would lead me to believe that, for whatever reason, there isn't inventory. I'm also very surprised to see what appears to be the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza on Hotwire for $153 and your 3* bid wasn't accepted for $120.

Did you bid for a 3* and 4* in both River North/NMA and Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park?

One suggestion is the Allegro on Orbitz. While not the best location downtown, the hotel recently underwent a major renovation (to the point where the hotel was closed for a couple of months.) That's $167.50 on Orbitz. Use coupon code SUMMERFAM for 10% off = $150.75

Please use the site's link to Orbitz.com if this is of interest.

Thanks for the reply... Appreciate the coupon for Orbitz.

I was hoping to do better then $150, especially that parking will be $40-$50 range.

Do you guys think it's better to wait till the last minute, like Thursday, or even Friday morning? Last year I did Inter-Continental for 90 on a weekend.

Ok, I go this for Friday night... seems that Saturday is the problem this weekend, since the Hyatt is sold out. I'll have to fish for another hotel on Saturday night.

The Sterling Self-Park Garage

In by 9 a.m. out by 7 p.m. - $18 per day

Rates are a little higher than that now - call for current rates. This is not that far from either the Hyatt or Holiday Inn.
