familygirl Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 I am planning an overnigt trip to Savannah in July. What is the average bid accepted for both priceline and hotwire for a 3* rated hotel in the historic district?
thereuare Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! You really don't want to know the average bid... if there are two accepted price points, one at $50 and one at $100, does knowing the average of $75 help at all? If you used that information and bid $75 you'd either be wasting a bid (if the 'right' price is $100) or you'd be bidding too much (if the 'right' price is $50).As well, there is no bidding on HOTWIRE... they give the price (but not the hotel name).I'd start here: I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire as it gives an overview as to how each works and the similarities, and differences, between the two.Feel free to ask questions and/or let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please also let us know which zone(s) you're willing to accept, your minimum star rating, maximum bid, and dates of your stay. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. familygirl Posted July 20, 2008 Author Report Posted July 20, 2008 I just booked a one night stay at the Hyatt in the historic district of Savannah on West Bay St. My total was $100.69 through HOTWIRE. It is a 3.5* rated hotel. According to tripadvisor reviews, the location is great. There were some complaints but overall decent ratings. Web rates for the same July dates are $159. I was hoping to get this hotel and took a chance based on earlier posts. Thanks.
familygirl Posted July 20, 2008 Author Report Posted July 20, 2008 The hotel descriptions for the Hyatt 3.5* are fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, golf, and tennis

familygirl Posted July 21, 2008 Author Report Posted July 21, 2008 The rate before taxes was $89 and there was an icon for high speed internet. I accidentally booked the wrong day. I called and they refunded my money and booked another hotel over the phone. THe new hotel is the Inn at Ellis Square a 3* rated hotel also in the historic district. The rate without taxes was $104. This hotel had better reviews than the Hyatt.
