Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip North) Venetian

We would like to stay at Mandalay Bay or the Venetian on Oct. 5 to 8, and I wanted to ask a few questions before starting to bid.

1. How do I get Mandaly Bay or Venetian without getting Trump? (we want a casino in the hotel)

2. I am looking for 3 rooms. Is it best to do one at a time or all together? I was thinking I might be able to get a lower price by doing one at a time.

Thanks for the help!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE... you can receive any hotel in the zone you select at the minimum star level you have selected. If there is a hotel in the zone that you dont' want, such as the Trump, then don't bid that zone.

The Mandalay Bay and Venetian are in different PRICELINE zones... so not sure if you would still want to bid the zone which doesn't have the Trump in it as you may get a different 5* property (and while likely it would have a casino, no guarantees)

If a cainso is the 'deal breaker' you may want to consider HOTWIRE which will show you the casino property beforehand and let you know before your purchase if the hotel has a casino or not.

If you choose to use either service you would want to purchase all the rooms at the same time (in one purchase) otherwise you can receive different hotels for each purchase... or win a hotel for the first or second room and then not have any more rooms avaialble for yoru subsequent purchase(s).

Let us if you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.

Need help on what to bid next.

Strip Area North 5*, 10-5 to 10-8

First bid $100

Counter was $133

2nd-$105

3rd-$110

4th-$115

5th-$119

6th-$125, and did not get anything (never included south strip)

Do I wait and rebid the same numbers in a few days? Is $133 going to be the best I can get? I'm bidding on 3 rooms, does that make a difference? Someone else got a room for $119 later in October, and the regular rates are higher on their dates then mine. Does that matter?

Thanks for any advice you can give me

Then i would just continue your current strategy, but i will add that i do think that you'll likely be successful if you were willing to go up to $130, so you have to ask yourself if it's worth holding out for $5/nite (or less if you were to try $128 and/or some other figures between the $125 you have already bid and $130)

Congratulations on your success!

A very nice win... not just the rate, but in receiving the Venetian as it's been getting tougher to get with the new Trump International having very competitive opaque pricing.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and for using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.

Have a great stay and good luck in Vegas.
