wunderbunny Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Hi There, I'd like help identifying this hotel if possible. Looks like it could be either the Hyatt Regency or Hilton Towers? 4* Museum Campus, McCormick Place, Soldier Field9/5/08 - 9/8/08 $105Amenities- Fitness Center- Pool - Restaurant- Business Center- Hi-Speed InternetAny info would be appreciated! Thanks
AaronJB Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Welcome to the site :)This could be either the Hyatt McCormick Place or the Hilton Towers, although it certainly runs the risk of being the Hyatt. Keep in mind that this is NOT the Hyatt on the river, it is the Hyatt near McCormick Place, which is South of the city and sort of in the middle of nowhere. It isn't walkable to the main downtown area, and there really isn't anything directly around the Hyatt McCormick aside from McCormick Place.I wouldn't recommend staying there aside from if you're going to McCormick Place for a convention. If you are a tourist, I wouldn't recommend it.However, if you are still interested in this property, it would be greatly appreciated if you could start your purchase by clicking on the site's link to HOTWIRE (click the HOTWIRE)Otherwise, I see a 4* in the Loop for $129 with the amenities: fitness, business, internet and restaurant for your dates on Hotwire. That looks to be the Palmer House Hilton, which is MUCH more centrally located. My last suggestion would be to try and bid for a 4* in the Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park area on PRICELINE (click the PRICELINE link to start your purchase) and bid $90 for a 4* to see if you can't undercut Hotwire's price for the potential Palmer (which is $159 full price for these dates) or possibly get a different 4* for that price. To make a long story short, I wouldn't recommend going for the potential Hyatt McCormick on Hotwire; I'd rather recommend either paying a bit more for the Palmer on Hotwire or trying to get a 4* on Priceline in the same area for $90.If you have any questions, please ask
wunderbunny Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 Thanks for the feedback. I took your advice and put in a bid on Priceline. Started the bid at 4*, North Michigan, $86 and came back with no results. Added Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park area and bumped it up to $89Offer accepted for the Hyatt Regency Chicago on East Wacker Dr. Rates for this timeframe via their site would've been $200-$300 a night. I'm very pleased :)
