Won with first bid on July 13th for July 13-15

I bid on this before I found out about betterbidding.com. It was a last minute decision so I had no time to research! I bid and we were all packed up within the hour! I am pretty sure we overbid, but I just wanted to share because it might help someone!

I just wanted to also say that they were not willing to upgrade our room. We have a little baby and we NEED a fridge and microwave, the first night we got there the man that checked us in said he would have done something, but since we booked through PL, he can't do anything.

The next morning, we asked again and the supervisor was there. We explained our situation, and he just asked what room we were in and said to go out for the day and he'll see what he can do. We came back in the evening and there were new people at the front desk. I kind of fibbed and said that the guy earlier had promised that he'd take care of it :) She looked up our room on the computer, asked if I booked through PL and called the other lady that was working with her (I'm guessing this lady was a shift supervisor or something). I had to explain why I wanted another room again, and said that the guy had said he'd take care of it. She basically said that she can't do anything and that they guy will be in tomorrow and maybe he'll give me something for it cuz he had said he would take care of my situation. I couldn't believe it! They knew that we had a BABY and that her food was SPOILED because there was no fridge! To get to a microwave, we had to get out of the building that we were in, go outside and into the next building, which I'm assuming is their big brother 2.5* or 3* hotel, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!! Yes, THEY told us to "feel free to go across and use the microwaves in the lobby". We ended up not saying anything to anyone when we checked out, we had been very polite about everything, and we doubt they would have agreed to give us anything. Maybe I will write a letter to HO lol.

Sorry for the long winded post, again, just wanted to share because maybe it'd help someone else out!

Did you offer to pay the difference between the hotel's regular rate and the rate for an upgraded room (ie- if a standard room is $100 and an upgraded room w/ refrigerator is $125, did you offer to pay the $25 difference for an upgrade). While it would have been nice for the hotel to help you out, they're under no obligation to give you an upgraded room for your PRICELINE purchase.

If there are sepcific amenities you need, PRICELINE many not be the best solution... HOTWIRE may be a better option as they will tell you the amenities before your purchase and you can choose a hotel with a kitchenette... or book direct.
