Priceline Hotel: Downtown Toronto Help for 8/3-8/5

I am new here and I really love this website! Its great and seems increadibly helpful.

I have been reading all of the post regarding winning bids for Downtown Toronto with results in the $70 range. I followed the advice of many who have tried the re-bidding system with PRICELINE, but I am not getting the results I was hoping for....

8/3/08 - 8/05/08

1st bid: 4* Toronto Downtown - $70 - Rejected

2nd bid: added Brampton - $75 - Rejected

3rd bid: added Don Valley - $80 - Rejected

4th bid: added Markham - $90 - Rejected

5th bid: added Mississauga - $100 - Rejected

6th bid: added Toronto East - $105 - Rejected :)

Im really not sure what to do. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something special going on in Toronto for the dates that I am looking for? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The Sheraton is the most frequently won hotel in this zone and it is sold-out for your dates above. However, other properties are showing availability and rates aren't that high.

I would book a cancellable back-up (please use the BetterChecker for any hotel direct reservations you make) and continue to try each day for the next week. If still unsuccessful after a week then i'd consider increasing your bid (unless you have a suitable back-up plan that is cheaper)
