Priceline Hotel: 5* north strip question -- trump

Hello, I'm new and hope I'm doing this right. Thanks for making this resource available! I've been reading many of the posts and trying to find the best way to go about my first Priceline or Hotwire bids/purchases.

I'm interested in bidding on a 5* strip hotel for Aug 3-7 (one room/2 people). Would be thrilled to get a good rate at the Wynn or Venetian. Unfortunately, it looks like Priceline includes Trump International in the north strip zone. I'm not interested in staying there since, as best I can gather, it has no casino and is not on the strip. These are both features that are important to us. (I know, it's only a block or two off the strip -- but in Vegas, in 112 degree heat, those blocks can get awfully long!)

Is there any way to bid only on hotels that have casinos and/or are directly on the strip? Obviously in most cities these questions would be moot, but in Vegas, they are an integral part of our stay.

Also, I don't find Mandalay Bay mentioned in any of the hotel lists here. Do they not offer rooms on Priceline or Hotwire?

With PRICELINE, in regardsd to geography, you can only select the zones you're willng to stay, and the boundaries of these zones are determined by PRICELINE.

You could try HOTWIRE... they too have hotels in the 'strip zones' which are slightly off the strip (including the Trump International), but you can at least try to identify these properties before your purchase to try to determine if the property in located on/off strip.

If you do a HOTWIRE search for your dates, do any hotels at the 5* level in the Strip zones appear for your dates and within your budget?
