geoman23 Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 After being rejected up to $140 bidding (4*) on downtown San Diego, I broadened my search. I can't exactly recall my exact bidding, but used La Jolla, San Diego Coastal and Escondido zones. (2.5* and 3*). Ended up with Lake San Marcos - Escondido, $80.00 Rate on the hotel website is $129. From the reviews, it looks like the only thing going for this property is that it has free parking. I'm positive I could have gotten this one cheaper, but messed up my bidding strategy. (After dozens of bids day after day for this trip, it's easy to do!) Ah well... Used the PRICELINE link from this site. Thanks to all for the posts!(**I should also note that I bid for and received this hotel a few days ago - July 11)
thereuare Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 There are some ok reviews of this property (along with some bad ones) and often when you see a lot of "love it or hate it" reviews such as this, it can be an indication that the quality of the rooms vary greatly from one room to the next. If the first room you receive isn't satisfactory i would inquire (nicely) to see if there is anything better that you can move to. Fortunately just one one nite so i'm sure you'll be able to handle however it is... hopefully good :)Thank you for sharing your win with the board and for using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
