bacuff Posted July 1, 2008 Author Report Posted July 1, 2008 I must be doing something wrong as I've been bidding for 2 weeks now and haven't had anything accpeted. I started bidding at $80.00's continued up in increments of $5.00, 85,90,95,100 and today jumped up to $111 just to see if it would be accpeted. Nope. I see someone else just posted the other day getting an accpeted bid of $103. What am i doing wrong? I am going through your website each time.
thereuare Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Rates are date specific, and it's still early but how high are you willing to bid for this stay? It's possible that 'low priced' inventory hasn't been released for mid-August.However, if you're getting 'antsy' i suspect you're not far off... HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the Downtown zone for $119/nite and a 4* hotel in the Gaslamp District for $129/nite... not much higher than your already placed $111/nite bid.Would you like to go with one of the above HOTWIRE offers, keep inching your bud up little by little, or wait it out? Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
bacuff Posted July 14, 2008 Author Report Posted July 14, 2008 Bid 4* downtown only as we needed that area. Used PRICELINE link. I had not been on the site in while and was previously getting rejected up to $80-$117 per night so I thought I'd give it a rest for a while. Forgot to check the posts before rebidding today and just started where I left off when on my first try my bid was accepted. We're newbies using this so I'm paying the price for the experience I guess. Still not disappointed considering the going rate for a room is $200.00+ a night and they take pets!Your Offer Price: $115.00Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $230.00Taxes and Service Fees: $39.65Total Charges*: $269.65
thereuare Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Congratulations on your win! Glad to hear you're happy with the results and succeeded not too much higher than you had already bid.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and for using our PRICELINE links to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
