daticket Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Hotwire has a listing for a 2.5* Disneyland North hotel with the following amenities:Non-smokingPoolRestaurantBusiness CenterLaundryHi Speed InternetTrip Advisor: 2.5 out of 59.7 miles to SNA, 24 miles to ONTWas thinking it was the Howard Johnson's Anaheim, but all the amenities don't match the list of hotels won. Checked the Hojo website, and sure enough, it lists all rooms as non-smoking, but there's no mention of a business center. Also, Hojo's site lists SNA as 7.4 miles.Any thoughts on whether this is Hojo's or something else? Thanks for your help.

thereuare Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 This property has not yet been identified. Are you refering to the HoJo at 1380 S. Harbor Blvd? If so, the Tripadvisor ratings of this property don't match those above. Speaking of which, this property comes up fairly often, but the end results is usually "do you really want a 2.5/5.0 TA rated hotel"?? :)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. daticket Posted July 10, 2008 Author Report Posted July 10, 2008 Yep...the HoJo's at 1380 S. Harbor Blvd. I'm surprised by the TA rating. The location is truly ideal if you're headed to Disneyland, and they have a newly constructed water play area (according to their website.) If I knew for "certain" that this Hotwire listing was Hojo's, I'd get it despite the TA rating. However, since the property is unidentified, I'm not so willing to take the risk! :)Trying to find a good deal w/o having to pay additional daily parking and "resort" fees. Hojo's doesn't charge either, so that was nice. Is there any way to know ahead of time if the property charges these additional fees?Looks like I'm back to the drawing board...Thanks so much for your help and advice. I really appreciate it!
daticket Posted July 10, 2008 Author Report Posted July 10, 2008 Sorry - now I understand about the trip advisor rating! Hojo's is NOT the 2.5 rating...it's the unidentified property. I see what you're asking now.I was thinking that if it was Hojo's, the 2.5 didn't bother me. But if it's an unknown, then I don't really want to test it out.Brain's working just a little slower these days... :)
daticket Posted August 7, 2008 Author Report Posted August 7, 2008 I ended up not using PRICELINE and just booked directly with Hojo via their website. After checking a few of the 3* hotels' websites, it seemed like most added a resort fee plus a parking fee. Once you added those costs to the winning bid, it bumped up the final cost quite a bit (assuming you had to pay these extra fees in addition to the PRICELINE bid). I just decided to go with a known destination, within easy walking distance to Disneyland so we didn't have to rely on the hotel's shuttle system. Does anyone know whether you have to pay the resort fee on top of the PRICELINE bid price?
