Alan Chase Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 New to the Priceline process and have been reading posts here...Looking for 3* or 4* in Boston (Downtown - Charleston) for 7/16/08 - 7/20/08What would be a reasonable price I might expect as a bid that would be accepted? Thanks!
Alan Chase Posted July 7, 2008 Author Report Posted July 7, 2008 Well...so far...up to $101 for 3* and no luck...Getting close to my price limit...
thereuare Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! As there is no longer a PRICELINE "Downtown-Charlestown" zone, exactly which zone(s) are you bidding? What is your maximum bid? If you ar rejected up to that point do you have a back-up plan?? (if so, where and how much)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Alan Chase Posted July 7, 2008 Author Report Posted July 7, 2008 Bidding the "Quincy Market - Faneuil Hall - Financial District" zone - figured that was the same as(?) the "Downtown - Charlestown" zone listed Priceline Hotel List".Maximum bid is $120.No backup plan as of now.Have been using your PRICELINE link.Thanks.
thereuare Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 No, the zones are not identical as PRICELINE recently re-zoned this area... changing the boundaries and names of some of the zones. The Copley-Theater District is another 'downtown' zone (as far as i know, i stayed in Copley a few years back and it was certainly centrally located, imo). If you look at the map of the Copley zone on PRICELINE would this area work for your needs as well? You may also want to find a suitable back-up, as knowing what you'll need to pay should you fail with PRICELINE or HOTWIRE is the only real way to determine a maximum bid (otherwise you're not basing it on rates for your actual stay but rather simply what you want to pay) Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
