Prem Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 Hi,I'm new to this forum, please help me in booking rooms in niagara falls for July 11th - July 13th. I'm ok to spend $70 - $90 per night but would prefer hotel near falls (walkable). One of my frnd booked via priceline last year, same season and he got Hotel crowne for $75. He went through betterbidding and also adviced me also to go by betterbidding. Any pointers to help me is highly appreciated. Thanks !
thereuare Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!would prefer hotel near falls (walkable)With PRICELINE you can't choose the exactly location of the hotel you receive... are you comfortable with a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries that PRICELINE uses to designate this zone? What is the minimum star rating you're willing to accept? (if not the highest star rating offered in this zone, are you willing to bid higher for a higher rated hotel, or are you looking for the least expensive hotel at the minimum star rating you choose)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Prem Posted July 6, 2008 Author Report Posted July 6, 2008 I'm Ok with buffalo (shaded region). looking for atleast 2 star with least expensive. Pls. let me know how much to bid for ??
thereuare Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 I'm Ok with buffalo (shaded region).Do you mean the Downtown Buffalo zone... as this is pretty far from the Niagara Falls (NY) zone that you originally inquired about above... and it certainly won't be walkable. We woudln't want to suggesst a strategy that went higher than you were willing to bid... what is your maximum bid for this stay? Prem Posted July 7, 2008 Author Report Posted July 7, 2008 I'm actually looking in/around Zone 6 Niagara Falls, NY and I'm ok to spend up to $80 - $100 per day
thereuare Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 I don't necessarily recommend bidding at the 2* level in an area such as this, and odds favor the lower rated hotels being further from the falls (lower property cost). As well, this may be a though win since this is "in season" and there are no re-bid zones availlable. If you want to give it a shot, i would simply start at $60 and increase by $10 every 24 hours. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Any questions feel free to ask.Good luck and keep us updated as to your progress.
