vncntvega0 Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 Hello -First time user, so I hope to get all the info right.I'm trying to ID this hotel:3.5-star hotel in Downtown TampaCheck in: Mon, Jul 28, 2008Check out: Wed, Jul 30, 2008$156Fitness CenterPool(s) Restaurant(s)Business Center High-speed Internet AccessTripAdvisor 2.5 of 5.0 with 40+ reviews (last April 2008)Any guesses would be better than mine and any help would be appreciated.Would you suggest I go with the $156 or try to get a 3* downtown through priceline lower? Thanks.
thereuare Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! The above is a match for both the Hyatt Regency and the Sheraton Riverwalk so either of these would be good possibilities, but i believe the one your more likely seeing is the Sheraton Riverwalk and that would be our better guess of the two.Whether you take this or try PRICELINE depends upon your thoughts of this property and its location relative to your needs vs. if you can accept an 'unknown' hotel anywhere within PRICELINE's zone. Given the Tripadvisor rating of this property i would probably be inclined to roll the dice with PRICELINE, if you're flexible in the location of the hotel you receive. Speaking of location, just confirming that this zone is where you need/want to be as we typically see MUCH more bidding in the (Westshore-Airport TPA) zone (and i think the deals are a little better there as well)Let us know your thoughts and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. vncntvega0 Posted July 4, 2008 Author Report Posted July 4, 2008 Thanks for all the great info.Yeah, the TripAdvisor score had me wondering too. As for the location, downtown is where I need to be, closer to the convention center the better.PRICELINE has 3 3* hotels (at least according to my searching) in the downtown area close to the convention center (Tampa Marriot Waterside, Hyatt Regency Tampa, and the Sheraton Riverwalk). Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice - I am new to PRICELINE, HOTWIRE, and bidding for hotels in general. I'm happy I found your site.
