bluehaze Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Hi guys! I am going to Quebec on July 4th and need to find a hotel for that night. I know there is a celebration going on for the 400th Anniversary of the city, which makes this even harder. Since I have such limited time, I would like to stay within the main area of the city. What should my strategy be for finding a hotel? Our budget is up to $200/night.Thanks!
thereuare Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 What is the minimum star rating that you're willing to accept? If less than 4*, did you want to try up to your maximum bid for a 4* hotel before trying for the next highest star rating OR are you looking for the least expensive hotel at your minimum star rating for this stay?Let us know and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. bluehaze Posted June 26, 2008 Author Report Posted June 26, 2008 My minimum would be 3 stars - as long as its in the city center area. So what I'm looking for is the least expensive hotel at my minimum star rating. Thanks!
thereuare Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 as long as its in the city center area"City Center" can mean different things to different people. Look at PRICELINE's zone boundaries for this area... are you willing to accept a hotel anywhere in the shaded boundaries of the zone as defined by PRICELINE?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. bluehaze Posted June 26, 2008 Author Report Posted June 26, 2008 Looking at the map, I'd prefer to stay in the "Quebec" area.
thereuare Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 When bidding 3* in Quebec you have one re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Quebec...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125.The above may <likely> be too low, but with a little time on your side i would at least make those my first two bids in an attempt to lowball (for these particular dates... as any other timeframe the above bids might actually be considered to be high)Any questions freel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
