tagast Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Hi there, I've been lurking for a while and would like some help finally! I'm really trying to ID these hotels so that I can look into their policy on under-21 year olds. If you have any particular leads on hotels that would allow a 20 year old to check in (no much more than $100/night max) I'd REALLY appreciate it. Thanks in advance!4* NMA, $99/night with a fitness center, restaurant, business center, and high speed internet. Also with Customer Favorite and best value. Trip adviser 4/5. I think this is the Drake? But I figured I'd check.3.5* Loop, $113/night with fitness, restaurant, laundry, and internet. Best value, no customer favorite. 3.5/5 Trip Adviser with 160+ reviews.3* NMA, $99/night, boutique, no smoking, fitness center, restaurant. No customer favorite or best value. 2.5/5 trip adviser with 180+ reviews.and finally,2* MMA/Streeterville, $99/night, no amenities listed, no customer favorite or best value. 3/5 trip adviser with 40+ reviews. Thanks SO much, this really means a lot to me, I truly appreciate the help!
AaronJB Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Welcome to the site Unfortunately, here are *very* few hotels in the city that are not 21 and over only (the only ones that come to mind are the Embassy Suites properties, and I'm not even 100% that they are 18+) HOTWIRE's age minimum is also 21.Do you have to be downtown? More of the suburban hotels are likely 18+.
AaronJB Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Actually, this property:3.5* Loop, $113/night with fitness, restaurant, laundry, and internet. Best value, no customer favorite. 3.5/5 Trip Adviser with 160+ reviews.Looks to be the Club Quarters Loop (although it is ***NOT*** guaranteed to be) and, according to the Hotels.com page for the hotel, minimum checkin age for the hotel is 18. I would highly recommend checking with the hotel first regardnig this, but additionally - keep in mind that this HOTWIRE listing does have the potential to be something else.
tagast Posted June 28, 2008 Author Report Posted June 28, 2008 This has indeed been a difficult search. I've found a few hotels around the airports that would allow me to check in but would really rather be in the city as I feel like the time/money/effort put into getting into the loop two or three days from outside wouldn't be worth it. Hotwire also just emailed me about a price update and I haven't been able to identify it from the hotel list on the site, thought it might be worth a shot.2.5* Museum Campus/McCormick/Soldier Field for $99 with fitness center, restaurant, laundry, and internet. Tripadvisor rating of 2.5.Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it!
tagast Posted June 28, 2008 Author Report Posted June 28, 2008 Also, I'm considering changing my plans and looking for the cheapest hotel I can find close enough to public transportation. Basically, I'd like to be able to get into the city in no more than an hour. I'd greatly appreciate any tips on just hotels that would let a 20 year old check in that basically fits that description or really any guidance.
AaronJB Posted June 28, 2008 Report Posted June 28, 2008 ---2.5* Museum Campus/McCormick/Soldier Field for $99 with fitness center, restaurant, laundry, and internet. Tripadvisor rating of 2.5.---I'll guess this is almost certainly the Travelodge Downtown. The "L" takes approximately 55-70 minutes from the airport area. The problem with staying at a lot of other suburban areas is that you really need a car, as public transit at many suburban hotels is not within walking distance of the hotel.
