indoindy Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Started bid with 4*, south strip, $55 rejectedAdded north strip zone, increased bid to $60 rejectedAdded airport zone, increased bid to $65 rejectedAdded Summerlin-Northwest zone, increased bid to $70, acceptedI'm a little bit dissapointed that I didn't get a hotel on the strip, but I guess it's not too bad. Checked advertised rate was $109. This hotel is also listed as 3* on tripadvisor. Hopefully it will be worthwhile.Used the PRICELINE link on this forum.
bbbb Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Its almost not worth bidding on strip hotels any more with the Trump coming up at 5* and the Westin at 4* with their added resort fee. :)
thereuare Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Congratulations on your win!PRICELINE can still be worthwhile in this area if you're willing to stay slightly off-strip, but you need to know what to expect before bidding. If one isn't willing to stay off-strip, hotwire is still a good option as it's often easy to figure out many of the higher rated hotels in this area and thereby 'know' if the hotel is directly on the strip or not (although in this circumstance HOTWIRE has more "user friendly" zone boundaries)Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy this leg of your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
