azepine00 Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Tough one: no rebids availableWhistler Fri-Sun July 16-18 (actually I want to split it)Tried to lowbid resort (most likely westin) $55 for 16th and $60 for 17th - both rejected. Hotwire shows westin around $95 for the 16th. Will try again tomorrow including resort and 4*. Don't mind going down to 3* but have no idea about the prece range there. I guess that's the way Priceline was supposed to be before certain helpful websites and rebid strategies :) Any experience in that zone with any ratings? Also car rental is getting surprisingly expensive from YVR: hotwire is the cheapest at US$55 total for two days. Yikes!Any help appreciated.
thereuare Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Given the rate i saw for the Westin at $200+ that Hotwire rate doesn't look too bad... i'd think anything less than that would be a 'win'.Why are you intentionally splitting the dates before bidding the stay as one? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
azepine00 Posted June 23, 2004 Author Report Posted June 23, 2004 Why are you intentionally splitting the dates before bidding the stay as one? 2x PL/ebay -> AA -> HH(maybe) :) Actually I am not completely set on Whistler: perhaps one night there and one in Victoria or somewhere else outside Vancouver. Westin came up a few times around summer in the past for $60-70. If it doesn't play out I'll step down to 3*.
edyvr Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 $45 will probably get you a 2.5* Residence Inn Whistler or Coast Whistler Hotel. According to the vacation packages, 3* is the Summit Lodge, which will probably be more.
azepine00 Posted June 24, 2004 Author Report Posted June 24, 2004 Another try: $65 for 7/16 and $70 for 7/17 - another rejection. :) Residence Inn can be booked for two nights (MR deal) on marriott.com for CAD$99/day if I recall correctly. That's a backup for now.
