Hello everyone,

I am planning to visit tourist attractions in New York City from 6-8 July (3 days). I am

looking to book an hotel room using HOTWIRE as follows:

Jersey City, NJ

Check-in: 5th July

Check-out: 9th July

Adults:4, Child(2-12):0

I also have an infant daughter, 1 yr old.

I will be using the betterbidding HOTWIRE link to book.

This is the best option I am getting:

3.5* Secaucus-Meadowlands for $94 with Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby

Trip Advisor: 3.0/5.0

Based on: 40+ customer reviews

From previous posts, it looks like this might be the Sheraton Meadowlands. Any idea how much parking would cost at this hotel? Since I am upfront asking a room for 4 people, can I get 2 double beds guaranteed in the room?

What are good and cheap options to visit tourist attractions in NY from here? I am confused looking at the various modes of travel available (NJ Transit/Path/Metro/Bus).

Thanks.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Best guess is that the hotel above is the Sheraton Meadowlands.

There is no charge for parking at the hotel. Given you're searching for quad occupancy i don't see why this hotel would have any problem with a room with two beds... and HOTWIRE guarnatees sleeping accomodations for everyone included in your search. (in some circumstance the 2nd 'bed' could be a rollaway or a pullout couch, but i don't think that would be the case at this property)

To get to NYC you can:

-take the hotel shuttle to the nearest bus stop (it runs on a schdule, not on demand)

-drive to the Park N Ride and take the bus into Manhattan (benefit is don't have to wait for shuttle... con is that you have to drive and parking will cost about $5 extra vs. taking the bus via the hotel shuttle)

-drive to PATH train and take the train into the city (benefit is that the train runs very frequently and is more 'citylike' than traveling by us... downside is that you'll have to pay for parking near the PATH station and it's a little further drive than the bus stops)

Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.

Thank you for the reply. I will most probably go for this option after my travel plans are finalized in a week.

Your site is a very good resource. Thank you for managing it!

I went ahead and booked using the HOTWIRE link and the hotel is Sheraton Meadowlands.

July 5 - July 9

96 per night + tax 58 = total 442

Can you give me the bus stop and routes to go to Manhattan? I assume it would be the NJ transit bus.

In case I decide to use the PATH train, is the nearest station Hoboken? What would be the approx daily charges for parking at Hoboken or the nearest bus stop to the hotel?

The nearest bus stop is Secaucus Plaza bus #190. The hotel runs a shuttle (runs on a schedule from 10am-10:45pm) which goes to both the bus stop as well as the NJ Transit Train Station. The bus goes to NY Port Authority while the train goes to NY Penn Station.

If you want to drive i would go to the Park N Ride as it's easier to park your car and not have to worry about if it's parked illegally and/or will be there when you return. If you want to take the PATH (probably not worth it unless you intend to eat dinner in Hoboken at the end of the day) parking will run about $20-$25/day.

Any other questions regarding the area feel free to ask.

Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.

Enjoy your stay.
