Percolate Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 I can usually find something for about $40.00 to $45.00/night when I move my daughter in and out of the dorms. This time it cost $65.00/night. The number of hotels in the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids area listed on Priceline is far below what is normally seen. Many of those usually listed in Coralville (Iowa City) are probably still under water due to the flooding there. When I contacted the hotel to ask for two double beds instead of the king reserved by Priceline, they added on a $9.00 fee for changing the reservation. this was the first time I've been charged for making a change like that. And seemed a bit surprised that I was able to get a room through Priceline. But $30 off/night really helps-and unlike some Fairfield Inn's that I've stayed at, this one offers a hot breakfast.
