I'm looking to travel to NYC July 4-6. I did this search on 6/22 on HOTWIRE. These are two of the results I got that I'm interested in:

4* in Midtown South

$185/night

Amenities: Restaurant(s), High speed internet, Business center

4* in Downtown Soho

$199/night

Amenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), High speed internet, Business center, Pool(s)

Never been to NYC or used this website, so any help on figuring out which hotel this is would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the site :)

The 4* Downtown-Soho would appear to be a match for the Millennium Hilton, while the 4* MT South would appear to be a match for the Carlton.

We would greatly appreciate if you could use the site's link to HOTWIRE (click the HOTWIRE) to start your purchase, as it supports the site.

It would also be greatly appreciated if you could follow-up with which hotel listing you did purchase (if you do get one of the above two) as it helps the site keep the listing of potential Hotwire properties current and updated.

As always, please also feel free to ask any questions you may have.

I searched on Hotwire on 6/28 for a hotel in NYC for July 4-6.

I found this hotel:

4* Midtown East

$199/night

Amenities: Fitness Center, Business Center, Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access, Spa

Any help on identifying this hotel would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks for all the info. Which do you think would be the better option, the 4* in midtown-south for $179 or the 4* in midtown-east for $199? I'm hoping for this to be a special trip, so I want to stay somewhere nice. We'll be visiting a lot of tourist attractions, and are hoping for a hotel in a nice area with a convenient location for this. Thanks!

I'd recommend the 4* MT South, as if the MTE is the W New York that hotel doesn't get great reviews. If the MTS hotel is the Carlton, that hotel gets much better reviews.

I agree with AaronJB's comments above between those two hotels, however, if you don't mind a small room, i'd sooner book the 6 Columbus Circle for $199/nite thru Quickbook. You can read the reviews HERE.

Let us know what you decide and please use the PRICELINE, HOTWIRE, or Quickbook links in this thread to begin any purchases you make.

Good luck.
