polandspringuy
Hello - I was hoping someone would be willing to recommend a bidding strategy for my Hawaii trip. I'm still kinda new at Priceline and I happened to stumble upon this forum. Here are the details of my trip:Oahu 7/31/08 - 8/4/08Waikiki Beach AreaI am hoping for a resort if the price is right but 4* or 3* should be fine. (I'm not sure how much priceline rooms run during these dates but i'm hoping to spend around $150/night.)Maui 8/4/08 - 8/8/08Ka'anapali - LahainaAgain, hoping for a resort but 3* is fine if I can't get a resort. Please let me know if I need to provide any other information. Thanks in advance for your help. Will Link to comment

thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Please only post one stay per thread... we'll use this thread for the Oahu leg of your stay and your other existing Maui thread for that leg of your trip.I'm assuming both of the HOTWIRE hotels above are in the Waikiki Beach zone? If so...The 3.5* property is a match for the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel while the 2.5* is a match for the Aqua Waikiki Beachside Hotel so that would be our best guess for each.Do either of these appeal to you or are you interested in trying PRICELINE instead? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and/or how it goes or if we can be of further help. polandspringuy
My apologies. I goofed and included both requests in one 'topic'. I am open to either Priceline or Hotwire. My original 12:39 post was a request for assistance around a bidding strategy for Priceline and my 12:49 post was for help IDing the two hotels for HOTWIRE. Thank you for identifying the hotels. Would you have any suggestions on how to bid on Priceline based on the details from my original 12:39 post? Thanks again,Will Link to comment
thereuare
Before suggesting a bidding strategy, is that the route you want to go or are you interested in either of the HOTWIRE hotels? If i recall correctly, one of the hotels was priced in the $60's and the other in the $140's? Depedning upon which/either is acceptable you may want to adjust your maximum bid downward accordingly... or if you like the specific hotel believed to be offered thru HOTWIRE then just take that rather than risk an 'unknown' hotel thru PRICELINE.If you want to bid let us know your maximum bid along with whether you want to set your minimum star rating at the 4* or 3* level. If 3*, did you want to try for a 4* first up to your limit or are you looking for the least expensive 3* or better hotel for these dates? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. polandspringuy
I took at a look at all the HOTWIRE hotels and I think I'll take my chances with PRICELINE. Here are the details:Waikiki Beach Area7/31/08 - 8/4/083*<$125/night (would like the least expensive 3* hotel)Ka'anapali - Lahaina8/4/08 - 8/8/08Resort<$200/nightThe amounts above are what I'm hoping to pay. I'm not sure if they are too optimistic though... Link to comment
