AaronJB Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I'm seeing a different 4* in the Mag Mile/Streeterville area on these dates, and the one I'm seeing - which does NOT show spa - would likely be the Hard Rock. With Spa, it would likely be the Hyatt. The 4* NMA/Water Tower/GC could be either the Westin Michigan Ave, Drake or Millennium Knickerbocker, but with no information in the detail page (tripadvisor rating, etc.), it definitely runs the risk of being the currently under renovation Knickerbocker. What I would recommend would be the Sofitel Water Tower for $157.50 on Expedia. Use promo code WB06 for $10 off per night = $147.50Additionally, you get a $25 gas card sent to you if you book on Expedia using your Mastercard. This idea would be $7.50 more than the more expensive Hotwire listing, but at least in this case, you would know what you're getting and the 4.5* Sofitel Water Tower is the #1 rated hotel in Chicago on tripadvisor.com You'd also get the $25 gas card if you booked using your MC.If you are interested in this idea, it would be greatly appreciated if you could click on the site's link to Expedia.com (click the Expedia) to start your purchase, as it does help support the site.
thereuare Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 plumloco99,What are your thoughts regarding the Sofitel thru Expedia? Is this worth the extra $7.50/nite to you... which if you include the gas card may actually come out out be cheaper than the HOTWIRE options, top rated Chicago hotel, and no 'guessing' as to what you will get. plumloco99 Posted June 19, 2008 Author Report Posted June 19, 2008 I love the hotel, jumped all over it, but when I looked this morning it was showing a much different price and Friday night was NA.
