This is my first time bidding on Priceline. We are planning on staying in San Antonio from 8/7-8/10. We didn't want to stray really from a 4* or 3* hotel in the Riverwalk area. We tried bidding today, but we got rejected up to $90. Any tips? Is our money not going to stretch as far as we want it to?

Thanks.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

I'm guessing you're not too far off...

HOTWIRE has a 4* in the Riverwalk North zone for $114 and a 3* in the Riverwalk South zone for $109... would either of these work for your needs (we can try to help ID them if you're willing to stretch your budget a little) or would you first want to try increasing your limit and try PRICELINE?

I am running into the same problem. I am new here, as well. I bidded up to $100 and used up all my locations and got nothing. Now priceline is wanting me to change the dates. I can increase bid a little. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!

We could maybe try to stretch our budget a little on Priceline. We can rebid the same bid every 24 hours, correct? If we can do that, I think we just try to keep with this for awhile and hope it works out. Or is that naive to do?

If you were bidding for a 3* hotel above, you have FOUR re-bid zones available when bidding for a 3 star hotel in San Antonio.

If you're not familiar with re-bidding please start here: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and you're strongly encouraged to confirm your re-bid zones with the board before bidding.

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.

Let us know if you can figure out your re-bid zones or if you have any questions in that regard, as well as how high you're willing to bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.

I'm pretty sure I understand the free re-bids. I just select areas without 3*s, right, along with the area that I really would enjoy staying in. We are putting our limit at $100/night before taxes. Thanks for your help!

We won a room! We won the Marriott San Antonio Rivercenter for $105/night. We will be staying there Aug 7-Aug 10. We are very excited! It's a little over what we wanted to spend, but I think it will be worth it, considering what we would have had to pay if we wouldn't have gone through PRICELINE.

Thanks!
