cookrussell
I'm looking to bid on a hotel room for the 4th of July weekend. I currently have a reservation at the Marriott for aprox. $205 per night. HOTWIRE is currently offering a 4* in Copley (I think it's the Westin) for $179. Can you help me with a game plan for bidding on PRICELINE? Link to comment
cookrussell
I need help identifying a hotel on HOTWIRE. I think it's the Westin. Could I get a better deal on PRICELINE? Any help would be appreciated.Russell07/03/08 to 07/06/08Back Bay - Copley Square$179Fitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-speed Internet AccessSpa Services Link to comment
Liset
Russell, I'll try to help with a little more info. Is Copley the only zone you are considering; do you want a 4* property; what is your maximum bid?Usually, I find I do better with PRICELINE, but with HOTWIRE you can make a reasonable guess as to what property you'll get.BTW, if you're not familar with it, Boston is a great place to be on the 4th of July! My personal preference would be to bid for a 4* at Quincy Market/Financial District or Copley. Link to comment
cookrussell
Well I think that our first choice would be Copley but I would also consider the Financial District. I tried bidding on a 4* in copley last night with the three rebid zones up to $100 with no luck. Not sure how hi I should go on the bidding. I would go to $120 in Copley but if I add Financial District I would want to start at $80. Does that make sense? We are really looking forward to the trip, my GF and I are driving up from NYC after work on thursday. Link to comment
thereuare
So it sounds as if you are willing to go as high as $120 for the Copley zone before (lowering your bid and) adding other zones? If this is correct, you can try as follows using your three re-bid zones.Select 4* Copley...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE.Select 4* Copley and re-bid zone2...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $100, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE.Select 4* Copley and re-bid zone3...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE.Select 4* Copley and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $120.Any questions feel free to ask. If the above is rejected let us know how you'd like to proceed (add the Financial zone?) and we'll update accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. cookrussell
I ended up reserving a room directly with the hotel. Link to comment
jimmy0999
I ended up reserving a room directly with the hotel.Have you checked TravelZoo20? They have the Sheraton Back Bay listed for your dates for $139 per night and I believe it's refundable. Link to comment
