I am new to PRICELINE so I was hoping to find tips here. However, I can't figure out where to look to find bidding help for Long Beach? I am looking for a 4 star hotel for a pre-cruise stay out of Long Beach on 4-25-09. Is it too soon to try to bid? Any help on which zone and where to possibly start my bidding would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

If you look in the Priceline Hotel List you will see all the hotels reported in this zone. Likewise, you can enter "long beach" (without the quotes) in the QUICK SEARCH box at the top of the board and see all the threads/wins for Long Beach.

As far as 'when to bid', it's never to early to bid, as long as you don't overbid. For a more detailed discussion see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

Thanks for the help and moving my post to the correct forum. My max price current would be $110 for a 4 star in the Long Beach Port area. The Hyatt has been won on the cruise board at that price. I hesitate to bid being unsure the distance from each hotel to port.

To get a feel for how close the hotels are to the port, see our sister site: Hotels by the Pier.com (many ports are covered, so please share this with your friends on the cruise boards :) )

To bid on PRICELINE, at the 4* level for Long Beach you have three re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Long Beach...

Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $65, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE.

Select 4* Long Beach and re-bid zone2...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Any questions feel free to ask. If the above is rejected post back and we'll revise to try again in 24 hours, going up to your limit of $110.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

PS- most hotels 4 star hotels for these dates are $250+, with others well over $300+. However, the Renaissance is 'just' $159 and if this is acceptable (you can see the distance from the port using Hotels by the Pier.com above) i would definately book it as a cancellable back-up, since everything else at this star level is so much more expensive. You can then cancel if/when you find success with PRICELINE and/or find a better deal.
