PapaCat Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Long story short, wife wanted an Expedia deal for private room with shared bath at Hotel 17 w/ $50 gas card offer and $10/night off coupon. I prefer private bath so we struck a deal. If I could get a Priceline 2* for those dates for a good bit less than the Expedia price of the full stay (minus coupon + gas card), we would do that instead... Off I went, knowing my odds were slim to none, but had to try.2* Chelsea $65add Soho $70add Empire State $75add MSG $80add MTE $85add Times Square $90add MTW $98 (the max I could bid and have total with fees be where I would need them).Failed.She booked her Expedia deal for the cheapie Hotel 17 with share bath. I knew it was a longshot but I had to try. Hotely 17 is not great, but it fits our budget and having spent a lot of time in cheap European hotels and budget hotels in NYC, we know what to expect. For its location and its price range, it's a good choice. No worries! I will be back for our Long Island trip and shall be victorious!Oh, and for anyone else who needs the $10 off each night Expedia coupon, it is WB06 (that is zero-six, not oh-six). We all rely on each other for information. Please do your part to keep BetterBidding the best place to research Priceline bids: 1. Remember to start your bidding with the BB PRICELINE link. 2. When you win, post your results here so others can learn from your experience. 3. If you had to do rebids or have bidding tips, pass them along when you can. THANKS!
