Stayed here last August and was very pleased with the property.

The shuttle bus runs sporadically (every 30-40 mins) so be sure to call them when you arrive to check when the next one is due to avoid long waits. It costs 5 Euro per person each way and can only seat 8 pax. There is also the #300 Connexion bus that runs from Schiphol directly to the hotel for 3.20 Euro. Travel time is 10-15 minutes on either.

Property itself is very nice and modern (opened in April 2002). Rooms are large and quiet with nice views. Bathrooms are also oversized with seperate shower and tub. I cannot see why they would call it a 3* property and not a 4* property except maybe for the lack of swimming pool. It is however attached to a major entertainment complex next door (Claus! Partyworld) that is owned and operated by the same management so you can eat at any of their 3 restaurants and charge directly to your room. There is also a Bistro in the hotel as well as a 24-hour convenience store in the lobby.

All in all, a very satisfying stay and an absolute steal at the rate paid (US$40)

I got the Courtyard for around 40USD/26Pounds a night, as I had to stopover in Amsterdam for one night.

The Courtyard by Marriott is a quite new hotel, and they just celebrated 1st anniversary this year. It's located in Hoofdorp "near" Schiphol Airport, an entertainment complex is just around the corner as well as a large forest with lake and fish restaurant.

They offer shuttle bus service between the airport and the hotel, but only till around 10pm.; so I had to take a taxi which costed me 25 Euros one-way, quite a lot, I think; it's about 15-20 minutes ride from the airport, so not too near to the airport.

The shuttle bus costs 5 Euro one-way (check with the reception for the schedule/reservation). Cheapest way is to catch the bus 300 from the airport/to the airport (but it doesn't stop directly in front of the hotel but about 50 m away, I've been said).

The hotel from outside doesn't look very attractive in my eyes, but from the inside it seems very elegant and modern in American style. The rooms are really extremely nice for a three-star-hotel (though it is registered in Amsterdam as a 4-star hotel), quite large, with large writing desk, two queen size beds, 16:9-TV, steam iron, and in warm dark colours (a lot of dark wood and brown and darkgreen interior). The bathroom is really splendid, with black and white floortiles, separate shower cubicle and bathtube. Large mirror, nice lights, good aminities.. everything excellent.

As the hotel is a Courtyard, there are no minibars in the rooms, but there are some vending machines in the ground floor where you can get drinks and snacks against moderate (for hotel level) prices.

I didn't use the breakfast menu (against extra charge) so cannot say anything about that.

For 40 Euros a night, a very good deal.. but if you arrive after 22pm you will have to add around 25 Euros for a cab as the hotel is more far from the airport than other "airport-hotels".

They credited me Marriott rewards miles as well, by the way, but of course, only according to the price I've paid.
