Priceline Hotel: Bidding Assistance / NYC / 4* / Downtown - SoHo - Financial District

Hello. I saw that some people on the forums here got great discounts on the Tribeca Grand in June and July. I'm new to this is and was wondering what my best strategy would be.

I am looking to stay in Downtown - SoHo - Financial District (preferably at the Tribeca Grand), June 15 through June 18. I'd really like to pay a maximum of $200/night.

As you may know, you can't bid o a specfic hotel, so are you willing to take a chance and get any 4* hotel in the zone? Note that many of the hotels in this zone are in the Downtown part of the zone (and not in the SoHo part of the zone) which is not where the average visitor aims to be... would this be acceptable for your needs?

Most users bid the Midtown areas as they're convenient to mass transit and easy to get around, but not sure the purpose of your trip or how well you know the city, so not sure if Downtown is your first zone choice.

Also, just took a quick look at your dates above and i think under $200 may be tough for a 4 star... do you currently have a back-up reservation anywhere? If so, where and how much?
