Hotwire Hotel: I need help!

Hi all,

I'm new to this so I hope I'm doing this correctly. I'm looking into the possibility of going to Chicago MArch 16-20th, 2009 and I recently did a HOTWIRE search on it. The one that caught my eye was a 3* hotel in the Museum Campus, it has a business center, restaurant, fitness center, and tennis nearby. Can anyone help me identify it or give me information about the area? I've never been to Chicago and am wondering if this is feasible distance from what we want to do. Here's some of the activities we were considering:

Museums

Navy Pier

Frank Lloyd Wright House

Sears Tower

Magnificent Mile

(feel free to suggest more ideas!)

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

There are hotels of higher quality and similar price in the "main" tourist areas (NMA, Mag Mile, Loop)... what is it about this hotel that caught your eye? Why look in this area which is south of where of where 'everyone' else stays?:)

There is very little to see in the museum campus area aside from the museum campus itself. It's an area where there's going to be very little going on at night, as well.

For $15 more, there's a 3.5* in the Mag Mile/Streeterville area on HOTWIRE

For $149, you could get a suite at the Embassy Suites Lakefront, which is just down the street from Navy Pier and a couple of blocks from Michigan Ave. shopping. That would also get you free breakfast and an evening reception. This is on Expedia.com.

Overall, the Mag Mile (Michigan Ave.) area North of the river is just a nicer experience for a tourist than staying in the South Loop (Museum Campus) area.

Thanks! Honestly it was just the price that appealed to me. It doesnt seem like I'd be getting much bang for my buck though so I'm going to suggest the mag mile ones and the embassy suites option to my friends. Thanks for your help, I'll let you know what we decide!

As noted above, there are hotel of higher star ratings which are the same price as the 3* you enquired about (and more centrally located for a 'tourist').

Are your plans firm and are you willing to commit to a non-refundable purchase this far ahead of your stay?

No, not quite. This is just one of our options and we were looking up prices to have a ballpark figure. Thanks for the help though, I'll keep you posted.
