My goal was to find a room on North Padre Island. I was concerned that this might be a challenge considering this area seems to be a big summer weekend destination.

I felt confident in making $72/night my initial bid as I called around to several properties to get a feel for retail rates. Priceline came back with a counteroffer to increase my bid by $22/night. Since I had several weeks before my trip and my only my re-bid opportunities were within the same star level
