thereuare Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. The 4* in the West zone property is a match for the Hilton so that would be our best guess for that one.The 4* in the East zone matches both the Le Royal Meridien King Edward Hotel and the Westin Harbor Castle so either would be our best guess, although i think the Le Royal Meridien is the more liklely of the two. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. thereuare Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Best guess for the 4.5* is the Inter-Continental (on Front St)Why consider a 3* which is priced nearly the same as a 4.5* and more expensive than the previous 4 star properties? :)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know which you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. persianbuck Posted June 7, 2008 Author Report Posted June 7, 2008 Location of the hotel is a big decision factor for me which is why I was asking. Would you happen to know which hotel the 3* is?As for the 4 stars, I've heard and scene on this website manytimes that Hilton and King edw are not the greatest hotels
thereuare Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 The 3* has not yet been identified and the amenities are far too common for a city hotel to take much of an educated guess.I don't think the reviews of the Hilton or the King Edward are that bad... in fact THESE reviews of the Le Meridien King Edward are mostly quite favorable. If you change your HOTWIRE search from 2adults/0children to 2adults/2children you may see a different 4* hotel offered in the EAST zone (Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Interent, Business, Tennis, Spa) for $109/nite. Furthermore, **and this is an important distintion**, it has a TA rating of 4/5 with 240+ reviews.... this is a match for the Westin Harbour Castle and that would be our best guess, and it gets very good reviews. Would this work for your needs? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. persianbuck Posted June 7, 2008 Author Report Posted June 7, 2008 that is a much better option correct. I guess money is not a HUGE question here since no matter which hotel at the end you save 200-300 compared to booking a hotel on the hotel's website.which hotel is the following it comes up if u search for 2 adults, 2 childrn, 1 room Details for your 3-star hotel in Downtown Toronto East and car rentalComplimentary BreakfastSuitefitness centrebussiness centreresturantslaundry facilitieschildrens activity programshigh-speed internet accessTravel information: 12.6 miles to Toronto Lester B Pearson Intl. (YYZ)traveller rating 3/5 based on 100 customer rating
thereuare Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 I'm not sure of this lastest property, but you're heading in the wrong direction...Lower star rating, lower TA rating, higher price = not better than your options above. If the TA rating was similar/higher you could make a case for the possibility, but when nothing is 'better' except the price, it's not a real candidate relative to the other options.
