oleodie Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Hi There,We (3 adults) will be visiting NYC from August 13-16 and are looking for a decent hotel (3.5-4*) in the city. I found a HOTWIRE $204 hotel in Midtown Central with the following info:Restaurant, High-speed internet access, business center.3.0 out of 5 rating on 620+ reviews on tripadvisor (last reviewed May 2008)Any ideas on which hotel this would be or does anyone have advice on a priceline bid? I tried to place a PRICELINE bid two days ago for up to $184/night in areas of Midtown East, Midtown West, and Times Square - Theatre District but it was rejected. I only did 4* hotels for that bid.Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!!!
LaurRne14 Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 I am not sure what hotel that would be so I'll let someone else try to help identify that, but I thought I'd let you know that I've been looking for similar dates (8/16-8/20) for 3 adults for about 2 months now and the best deal I've found is $207/night directly through the Roosevelt Hotel (but I know their prices have gone up significantly since I booked that). In other words, $204 is a very good rate based on what I've been seeing over the last month or two. If for any reason you don't end up booking that HOTWIRE hotel, I would definitely book a cancellable backup room as soon as possible because at this point in time, prices seem to be going up, not down. What is your maximum budget?I will caution you when bidding on PRICELINE that you can't specify 3 people and there is absolutely no guarantee that the hotel you book will let you upgrade, add a roll-away, etc. A lot of people seem to have had success doing that, but you could end up in a pretty small room with just a double bed.
thereuare Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! The HOTWIRE hotel above has not yet been identified. As LaurRne14 points out PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, and it's generally considered risky to bid on priceline for NYC when you'll be more than double occupancy... is this a risk you're willing to accept? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
