Sciamano Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Last one of the series (too bad Lubeck hotels don't participate in Priceline!).. I tried bidding $55 for a 4* in the East zone, rejected (as expected, since this zone is more expensive).Restarted, tried the same amount in the West zone and I got the Moevenpick, which was the same hotel I would have reserved if I couldn't find anything using PRICELINE. Official rate was EUR 104 / $159, which amounts to a 54% discount)Used the PRICELINE link as always.Check-In Date: Tuesday, August 12, 2008Check-Out Date: Wednesday, August 13, 2008Hotel Name: Moevenpick Hotel Frankfurt CityEcke Hemmerichsweg, Den Haager Strasse 5Frankfurt, Germany49 69 788 0750Summary of ChargesYour Offer Price: US$55.00Number of Rooms: 1Number of Nights: 1Subtotal: US$55.00Taxes and Service Fees: US$17.83Total Charges: US$72.83

Sciamano Posted June 6, 2008 Author Report Posted June 6, 2008 Yes, I saved about 50% on average on the official rates, AND I got an upgrade on all the stays over the backup reservations.Really can't complain :)
