There is a 4.5* and 4* hotel in the Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville area. They are both $99.

The 4.5* has a fitness center, restaurant, high-speed internet, pool, and business center. It is a customer favorite and the tripadvisor rating is a 3.5

The 4* has a fitness center, tennis, spa, restaurant, high-speed internet, pool, and business center. It has a tripadvisor rating of 4.0 but is not a customer favorite.

Is $99 a good deal? Should I try priceline? Any ideas on what the two hotels are, and if so, which would you recommend?

I believe the 4* to be the Swissotel and the 4.5 to be the InterContinental.

Welcome to the site. :)

These are excellent prices for two very nice hotels. Retail prices for 4* Chicago properties in the Summer is almost always around $200 and sometimes as much as $300-400+.

If you are willing to pay a bit more for a nicer hotel, I think the Intercontinental's very nice and in a terrific location right on Michigan Ave. The Swiss is also terrific, but the Intercontinental has a somewhat better location for the same price.

If you are just looking for a 4* as cheap as possible, I'd bid $59 for a 4* in the Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park area on PRICELINE, as many people have gotten the Hyatt for $59 for different Summer dates.

The reviews of the Swissotel seem to be better, and the photos of the Intercontinental make the rooms look tiny - that was my biggest concern. I don't mind walking, and plan on spending most of my time down there walking around and enjoying it.

Also, I don't like the Millennium Park Area on PRICELINE, some of it is quite far south.
