The Affinia would probably be my best guess.

My suggestion would be to book the Monaco via Orbitz.com for $238.75 per night. Use the coupon code 70HOTELORB to get $70 off (in other words, $10 off per night) bringing you to $228.75 per night. So, for $18.75 more per night, you get a nicer (you could think of it as an upgrade), more centrally located hotel that offers a wine sampling/social hour at night.

Additionally, unlike Hotwire, this would be a refundable reservation (although please do double check the fine print for yourself on Orbitz.com and additionally, you would be charged a $25 cancel fee.) This would allow you the flexibility to change hotels if prices came down - which they may or may not - I would NOT bet on it in Chicago). If nothing better came along, then at least you'd have one of the nicest 4* properties in the city and a great location.

This is nothing against the Affinia, which is a pretty nice hotel that has just recently completed a renovation. However, for $18.75 more per night, I think the Monaco's a worthwhile upgrade.

The only other idea I have would be to stay at the Buckingham Athletic Club for 9/20-27 (it's not available on 9/19) for $199 a night via Expedia.com. The 3.5* Buckingham is not in a central location in the Loop area, but while it is further from shopping, it's not as far a walk from the museum campus. What it lacks in central location it makes up for with free breakfast, incredible views (the hotel takes up the 40th floor of the Stock Exchange Building) and use of the extensive and modern athletic club facilities. The Buckingham is an athletic club, but they do have 21 rooms. The first night could be at the nearby Club Quarters Loop (the location on Adams), which has availablility for $179 on 9/19.

If any of these ideas do appeal, please use the site's links to Expedia.com, Orbitz.com or HOTWIRE.com.

You are right, but if it looks like a great deal i can pay a little more. Today there is a 3.5 North Michigan for 172, amenities: Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis, Spa, golf. Do you know which one is this one?

Tks
