Bigjmc Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 I am travelling from 6/19-6/25, would it better to look for a hotel now or at the last minute? I have done a search on hotwire but haven't gotten anywhere close to the prices I see people have paid. I am also looking for a hotel between 3 and 4 stars in gaslamp, mission bay or la jolla areas. I would like to bid between $80 and $120. Do I have a chance of getting a room? Thanks
thereuare Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are date specific, so there is a chance that rates are higher for your dates than when you have seen lower bids accepted in this zone. What is the best rate you're able to find for a 3* or better hotel in any of your acceptable zones? (use our BetterChecker to assist in your rate search)Are willling to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3* or are you looking for the least expensive 3* or better hotel for your dates above? Also, the Gaslamp Quarter zone rests right night to the Downtown-Harbor Island zone. Is this zone also acceptable, or "no" because you don't want to end up in the Harbor Island area?Lastly, your stay is long (by PRICELINE standards)... is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?Let us know the above and we'll proceed accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Bigjmc Posted May 30, 2008 Author Report Posted May 30, 2008 The best rate I found for a 3* hotel in La Jolla $159, Gaslamp $169, Sea world-Mission Bay $189 and Downtown Harbor Island $212.I am looking for the best deal I can get on a 3* or better in these areas. The Downtown-Harbor ISland area is acceptable.I can split up my stay. How do you suggest I split the nigts? 2 reservations or maybe even 3?Thanks so much for your help.
thereuare Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Have you tried bidding yet up to $120 for the complete stay? If not, why wouldn't you want to start here up to your limit, and then looking into SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID?Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy to follow.
