Priceline Hotel: bidding stratergy London

I have been bidding on P/l via this site for a hotel in London 6/24-6/27 4* would like to be central as poss but have tried Bloomsbury and Islington up to $100 nothing coming up only an offer of around $277 a night any suggestions can raise my bid but a little advice wont go amiss thanks.

Are those the only zones you're willing to accept? Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? What is the best deal you're able to find thru conventional means? (ie- what will you do if not successful with PRICELINE)

We can use other zones as long as they are near a tube ,also can split ,if we dont get may look travel lodge or a deal through other means ,as I have over 21days yet and the hotels seem to have vacancies as yet ,should I try another zone then split if I have to and should I keep the bidding same price or go up now.

I would try a 3* bid before trying Travelodge.

You can't guarantee a specific location when using the opaque providers. Are there any other zones for which you'd be happy anywhere within the shaded boundaries which make up the zone?

I agree that i'd sooner try for a 3* property before settling for a Travelodge, but what is the rate of the Travelodge?

What are the rates of the hotels you are 'trying' to get at the 4* level in the previously bid zones above? The counter-offer given by PRICELINE suggests that you're not really close.

Think I may have idendtified one problem ,hadnt realised according to one friend it is the beginning of Wimbleden prices really soer at that time ,so thinking on those lines I will have to up my bid or go 3* and try different zones,to be in with any chance.

I have now had a counter offer of $177 against my bid of $130 dont want to go higher than$160 ish would rather try for a 3" as we will not be spendong much time in the hotel I will have to start a re bid lower if I go down the 3*route please advise should I increase one more time before dropping a star ,feel I must be getting close to the price now

Followed suggestions no luck ,would not accept $160 think I had better try 3*

Is your maximum bid the same for a 3 star? Are all the same zones still acceptable?

Would have prefered not to pay the max for a 3* have booked a canclable back up T/L city road ,and yes all zones are ok

How high are you willing to bid for a 3*?

Note that on HOTWIRE, in the Kensington zone, there is a 3.5* for $159 for your dates, which you may be able to identify from the lists (but not with 100% certainty). The taxes and fees on Hotwire are often a little less than Priceline.

So I'd consider that option too, if a 3* bid does not work out.

I tried the stratergy offered still no luck ,up until couple of days before travel ,in the end stayed with the T/L booking .

Being Wimbledon rooms sell anyway,will try to stay away from key dates.
