We are driving through Vegas this Summer (July 16 departing the 18th) and have never been there before. We are in our early 40's and will have two young teenagers with us. We want to see vegas but not really gamble (maybe a little) or do the shows thing but think we should stay on the strip the kids will want to do the coasters and see the place. We hae been looking at HOTWIRE to book but are not set on a hotel (3* or above) and just want one in a good location and for a good price. Since you have traveled there what are your recommendations on where on the strip and the quality? Thanks for any help!

I don't think your budget will likely be an issue...

However, one issue is that you're looking for quad occupancy and PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy... after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. Many Vegas hotels are now charging (very high) additional fees for more than double occupancy... so you could get to the hotel and only receive a hotel with one bed OR be forced to pay extra for the quad occupancy. You can take the risk and 'roll the dice' (afterall... you're in Vegas :) ) or you can play it 'safe' and use HOTWIRE which will likely cost you a little bit more (still within your budget though), but will allow you to search for up to quad occupancy (as well as have a reasonable guess as to the property you receive before your commit to the purchase).

One other thing to note, if you choose to go with PRICELINE, the Westin is a 4* in the Strip South zone, although it is located slightly off the strip... so just be aware that even though you're bidding the strip zone, you could receive a hotel slightly off the strip itself (although still walkable to the strip).

Let us know your thoughts regarding the above and we'll advise accordingly.

Good info.

There is now a 3.5* central strip for 62$ on Hotwire

Casino

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

High-speed Internet Access

Golf Nearby

Spa Services

They only list the 7 things. I did notice that they dont have the Trip Advisor info on there anymore.

Thanks we will just go with a HOTWIRE since we can get the right price and will not have any hassle.

Are you searching HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children because i don't see the amenities above for a 3.5* property when i search HOTWIRE for your dates and quad occupancy? (can you doublecheck the amenities for this offering)

Are there any things that might give away the Flamingo, is it the price that makes you think Bally's. I was thinking that it would be a better chioce because of the pool. In as much as we can make a "choice" this way.

What is your opinion of Bally's.

Thank you

I think Ballys is a better quality hotel than the Flamingo... but the Flamingo has a better pool area.

I didn't realize that I left this undecided. We ended up booking through the hotel direct. I was able to get a good deal with a package they were offering.
