katlones Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 We will be coming to washington DC area June 17-20. Have done a lot of research on the hotels and areas. Some of the cheaper hotels Too cheap and too many forums talk about the crime in those areas. Have decided On the Baltimore area, Mostly The Silver spring/ college park area (area #4)With Priceline (betterbidding) they have 3 hotels listed that people have won their hotels....., 3 star. Crowne Plaza, Marriott Inn & Conference & sheraton (I believe it to be Beltsvill ) I put in my search for the town Beltsvill.Question... what are the chances I might one of these hotels. Most run at $260.00 a night, Would a first bid be good at $70.00. Fairfield Inn (Capital Beltway) 2 star would be OK. But other sites show NO Rooms. Have a car, so can drive to any area to stay in, Unless you can recommend different area of town, Would like to stay close to metro. but not a requirement.ThanksKat
thereuare Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! What is your budget? I don't think this is a popular area for vacationers to stay and commute into DC. Have you looked into or considered Alexandria?Given that this areas is not bid too often, can't comment as to your chances of receving a hotel already reported to the board... there could always be others, as well as new hotels added/removed/upgraded/downgraded.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
