capucine61 Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 $149 a night for a 10-day stay (July 7th to July 16th) got me the Burnham Hotel - a Kimpton hotelWas described as:Boutique hotelRestaurant Internet in roomBusiness center4.5/5 on TripadvisorThe Burnham hotel is in the historic Reliance Building and I am SO HAPPY about my reservation!I am an architecture geek so this is like hitting jackpot.I finally got this on Hotwire after trying my luck with lowers bids on Priceline without results. Thanks for your forum, it really helped - I'm a newbie to the whole bidding for hotel room thing. I registered just to leave this note. And I used your HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links! :)
AaronJB Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 If you're fascinated by architecture, the Burnham and the Intercontinental are the two very best. One recommendation - walk a couple blocks over to the Palmer House Hilton and just walk into the lobby, as the utterly magnificent lobby there will thrill any architecture geek.
thereuare Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you receive such an extended stay (long by PRICELINE and HOTWIRE standards) and are happy with the outcome... looks like a great hotel with terrific reviews. Thank you for sharing your results with the board and for using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
capucine61 Posted May 27, 2008 Author Report Posted May 27, 2008 Yes, it was hard to find a good deal for a 10-day stay (I didn't want to break my stay into two hotels). I saw this hotel for a little bit cheaper on another seller site after I booked it, but hey, it's still a fantastic deal at $149.
AaronJB Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 If it's been less than 48 hours since booking and you see it cheaper, you can submit a double the difference claim w/HOTWIRESee: http://www.hotwire.com/customer-care/hotel...ference-faq.jsp
capucine61 Posted May 27, 2008 Author Report Posted May 27, 2008 Good to know! :)But I just double checked and the "better" price was not for the same dates. I will keep that option in mind for future reservation!
