Priceline Hotel: 4* Boston (Copley or Quincy)

I'm still working on Chicago, but I also need some help getting started with a bid in Boston. Here are the details:

Dates: 6/24 - 6/28 (fixed)

Stars: 4 or 3; prefer to start with 4 under the assumption that getting the right number of beds will be easier there... ?

Zones: Copley (1st choice), Quincy (2nd choice)

Cost: I'd like to stay under $125/night, if possible but that seems to be a long shot given the current rates on hotwire...

Notes: I'm bidding for two rooms. We are a total of 4 adults and 2 kids. I realize that there is no guarantee, but I need four beds.

Suggested opening bid and strategy? Any tips on increasing my odds of landing two beds/room (ie zones or star ratings to stay away from)? Any zones to expand into which offer easy T access and would be cheaper?

Thanks.

It appears your aware of the risks of seeking more than double occupancy, so i won't reiterate them here, but it is a risk.

Assuming you want to try either zone for a 4* hotel first, you have three re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

I've bid up to $180 for 4* on Priceline and gotten nowhere. Researching 3*s and considering hotwire. Best deal on hotwire now seems to be 3.5* at $229 in Back Bay Copley:

Fitness Center

Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply.

Pool(s)

Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal.

Restaurant(s)

Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary.

Business Center

Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply.

Do you have any houghts on what hotel this is?

Another option I suppose is the 2.5* for $149 in Cambridge.:

Complimentary Breakfast

Is this the Marriott (Residence Inn or Courtyard at 6 Cambridge Center)? If so, the location looks pretty workable. If not, the size of the Cambridge location seems like it could put me in the sticks and away from a subway line.

The 3.5* is a match for the Hilton Back Bay so that would be our best guess for that one.

Not sure of your question regarding the Marriott, but if you're looking for the location of a specific Marriott, or which Marriott hotels are located near a specific address, you can this Marriott Hotel by Address site... just put in the address you're looking for and you can see all the Marrott branded properties (including Courtyard, Residence Inn, etc) in the selected radius (there is also one for Hilton and Starwood hotels). If you book direct please use the links on the aforementioned sites.

Thanks for the info on the Hilton. Sorry for the confusion on the Marriot question. I'm looking for confirmation that the 2.5* at 149/night in Cambridge is likely to be the Marriot. Do you agree?

Just checked hotwire again and found at 3* @ $169/night in Boston Common - Theatre District. Amenities are fitness, restaurant, business center, high speed internet. Trip advisor rating = 3/5 . Is this likely to be the Park Plaza Boston Hotel and Towers?

What hotel do you think it is... a Marriott, Courtyard, or Residence Inn?

Best guess for the 3* would indeed be the Boston Park Plaza.
