Hi, newbie looking for cheaper place to stay for visit to NY May 30 to June 1, 2008. Please help identify?

Note: I monitored price today and assume it is the same hotel but price fluctuates:

$116 this morning. $109 about 2pm, $113 @ 3:30pm

Note: We'd prefer to stay in NY but want to pay <$200 all taxes parking etc included and it appears that may he hard for a private bathroom. IF I found an AMAZING deal I'd pay a little more. The alternative is to stay in Jersey City area or Secaucus for less (about <$120). We will have car but don't want to drive in NY. I've been looking at Secausus and driving to Bergen Park&ride which looks like a good deal. I'd appreciate any other advice. If the above hotel was close to PATH then that would be great.

The above is a match for the Hyatt Regency on the Hudson... which has a PATH train entrance about 50 feet from the hotel entrance :) If you're going to stay in NJ this is "the hotel of choice" in my opinion as it offers quick, easy, and frequent access to NYC.

Just to follow up, this opportunity is gone. It's now listing at about $140. Too bad.

The sole nite of 5/30 is still available thru HOTWIRE for $113/nite if you're interested in the possibility of SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID. You could then monitor rates and hope that prices come down for the nite of 5/31 and/or make alternate plans for that nite.

You could also try bidding on the two nites thru PRICELINE to see if any lower priced inventory is available there (although no assurance you'll receive the Hyatt above)
