Montrealtraveller Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Omni resort Orlando. 3 nights at 103$ per night from 7/30 to 8/2 (3X103$+55.55 taxes and service fees = 360.55$). I am very happy that I got the hotel I was hopping for; 3 nights at the Omni Resort At Championsgate in Orlando after many unsuccessfull bids. Our trip was only planned more than 2 months away and was not in any hurry to book the hotel (until I started bidding...). The fact that I really wanted a resort and was not as interested by the choices in the other areas made me only do one bid a day. I was not comfortable at trying the tricks some people were suggesting in order to do a re-bid the same day. Hotwire did not show any interesting savings. Maybe because I was trying too early?I started at 65$ to see if maybe the Hilton Resort was in the list as it sounds that it starts lower than the other resorts. I was really hoping not to get it as the pool does not look very nice. Our young kids love the ones with slides. I continued with 75$, 81$, 90$, 92$, 93$ (thinking I might get it. It sounds like a value that works for many people in this area), 95$, 100$. I was near my limit... when... at 101$, I was offered to raise my bid to 122$. I tried 102$ but it did not accept the request to rebid. I finally won my bid yesterday at 103$. The present lowest cost for this hotel is 135$ is you reserve for 3 nights and more (omni web site). I am saving about 96$+ taxes, for the exact hotel I was wishing for. Your site helped me get a much better idea on how to do my bids for this area. Thanks a lot, I will definitly try again in a next trip.
