thereuare Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 The condo property has not yet been identified. The 3.5* hotel is a match for the Clinton so that would be our our best guess for thatone. The 3* matches the Catalina, Chesterfield, Whitelaw, and the Hotel Chelsea, so all of these are likely candidates, but i think the one you're most likely seeing is the Chesterfield or the Chelsea and these would be our best guesses. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. noniesin Posted May 19, 2008 Author Report Posted May 19, 2008 Hello there,We stayed in Marseille hotel last year in South Beach, Miami. The Palms hotel is just beside our hotel. We are going to Florida again this year and my husband wants to stay at The Palms. I want to use the HOTWIRE link but I am seeing in this forum that The Palms is in Miami beach and not South Beach zone. Should I take the risk of booking the 4star Miami beach with hope that I am getting The Palms. I am afraid of getting a hotel somewhere else in Miami Beach which is far from the South Beach area. I am booking for Oct 21 till Oct 23 2008 for 2 rooms.Anyone has any tricks or ideas of this topic? Thanks
thereuare Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 If you search HOTWIRE for your dates (and correct number of rooms and occupancy) are any hotels offered at the 4* level in Miami Beach? If so, what are the amenities that HOTWIRE associates with the propety offered? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. noniesin Posted May 19, 2008 Author Report Posted May 19, 2008 Hi thereuare,I just check on Hotwire, using the link provided here for hotels in Miami beach,fl for Oct 21st till Oct 23rd 2008. 2 rooms x 2 persoon each room.3.5 * hotel - Amenities; Boutique hotel, Pools, Near Beach, High Speed Internet Access. (Tripadvisor rating 3.5 out of 5 - based on 200+ customer reviews) $112 per night per room$15 resort fee per person per night.4 * hotel - Amenities; Beachfront, Pools, Business Center, Fitness Center, Restaurants, High Speed Internet Access. (Tripadvisor rating 3.5 out of 5 - based on 320+ customer reviews) $199 per night per room$10 resort fee per person per night.Hotels in South Beach, Fl are now for 3.5* condo $89 per night, 3.5 * hotel $96 per night and 3* and 2.5* hotels $73 per night. What do you think? Is it The Palms? And are these rates reasonable or due to your years of expertise in this forum, do you think I should wait for better deals? Thanks for all your advise.
thereuare Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 The 4* is a match for The Palms so that would be our best guess, but at $199/nite, add in HOTWIRE's fee, and you're looking at just about the same cost as booking directly with the hotel, which would be cancellable (i'm assuming, didn't doublecheck) and no guessing as to which hotel it is... if that's the hotel you want i would book direct since there currently (always check back between now and your stay) be little/no savings by booking on HOTWIRE.Any questions feel free to ask.
