Priceline Hotel: 4* Boston (Quincy-Faneuil-Financial) Hyatt Regency

I have bid up to $115 over the last three days for a four-star in the Quincy/Faneuil/Financial zone with no luck.

On Sunday, I started at $80 and increased by $5 with each of my free rebids (South Boston, Somerville, Bedford). Monday, started at $90 and did the same. Tuesday, started at $100 and followed the same bidding pattern.

I'm confused because there seems to be good hotel availability for that weekend, but maybe I'm just not bidding high enough. The dates of my stay are May 23-26. I need to be in the financial district (hoping for the Hyatt). My max is $120.

I have a group rate of $179 at the Hyatt. I'd stay elsewhere at the right price, but if I'm not going to get anything for $120 or less, I'll suck it up and stay where the rest of the wedding party is staying.

I posted an item two days ago about needing help for a bidding strategy for Boston over Memorial Day weekend. I'm new to the board so maybe I am not following protocol. I've read the FAQs, and it seemed bidding strategies should be requested in the state-specific thread. Can someone tell me if I'm going about this the wrong way?

Sorry, somehow this post was overlooked... i don't recall seeing it previously.

You do have three re-bid zones, but i'm assuming you typed them wrong since Medford and Sommerville are part of the same zone. If you're not sure or your third re-bid zones feel free to ask/confirm with the board. Priceline Re-Bidding Explained

With your three re-bid zones i would try as follows:

Select 4* Financial...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $90, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline.

Select 4* Financial and re-bid zone2...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $100, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline.

Select 4* Financial and re-bid zone3...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $110, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline.

Select 4* Financial and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $120.

If the above is rejected, note that HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the Financial District for $129/nite. Best guess is that this property is the Omni Parker House which you can weigh the location and cost vs. the $179/nite group rate at the Hyatt.

Bid $80 for Financial District, rejected; added Brookline and bid again at $90. Got Hyatt Regency with option to add nights.
