I searched 1 room with 2 people. May 17-19. The area I am looking at is Lombard - Oak Brook - Downers Grove. I am looking at 3 different "deals"... have any idea which hotels these are?

2* Hotel at $33.00 night (Retail 57.50 night)

All it says is "This limited-service establishment offers basic accommodations, often with a few extra features"... it doesnt have anything about amenities

2.5* Hotel at $33.00 (retail $82.00)

Amenities: fitness center, laundry facilities

3* hotel @ 59.00 night (retail $90.00)

Amenities: fitness center, laundry facilities, business center.

Any ideas?? Thanks!!

I just booked my hotel at HOTWIRE

We were a little surprised, as we expected a different hotel, but hopefully this will help others:

We booked for 5/17-5/21 under the heading "3* Chicago O'Hare south"

The price was $93.00/ night, 3* hotel

Amenities: fitness, pools, restaurant, business center, laundry, high-speed internet access, golf nearby, children's activity program

The Hotel: Holiday Inn Elmhurst

The Holiday Inn on York Road, right? The 290 exit is right there. Seems to me more of a business-like hotel. Not far is Oakbrook Mall and Yorktown Mall. Chicago is about a 20-25 minute drive in little traffic. We live not too far from where you will be staying. Downtown Elmhurst is a cute little suburb, by the way.

We went to the Indoor water park at the hotel a couple years ago.

Thanks for the info! Yes, it is the Holiday Inn on York Road. I am still a little unsure on how that is South O'hare- it said it was 3 miles away, not 10 (which it is). We are pretty disappointed (not b/c we don't like Elmhurst, but we need to be very close to O'hare).

Yea, that is disappointing. I was in the same boat a little while ago when I was unsure of a hotel I was looking to book for Pensacola beach for 5 nights. It was suggested to buy the first night only and if it was the hotel I wanted, to purchase the remaining nights. If it was not the hotel I wanted, then look for something else. This way you can at least take a "peek".

Travel on the highways, E. on 290 to N. 294 to 190 to O'hare is about 10-15 minutes with light traffic. I've also used the local roads to get there. N. on York, East(right) on Grand Ave, N.(left) on Mannheim Rd. to 190 to O'hare. You can also continue on Grand ave to N.(left) on River Rd. to 190 if you are doing business on River rd. Local road travel is about 20-25 minutes.

"Note: All distances measured from center of area boundaries to destination listed." - That's the small print at Hotwire under Travel Info. No wonder it's 3.2 miles. I know I wouldn't have paid attention to that. Used the HOTWIRE link above to check.

Sorry that happened to you.
