texas80 Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Hello,I'm new to the board and would like to get some help with a Scottsdale hotel. I performed a Hotwire search for Scottsdale for 5 nights in October and got the following:3* Hotel in Scottsdale - Amenities; Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s), High-speed Internet Access, Fitness Center, Business CenterFrom previous posts I'm guessing it's the Hyatt Place.Do you help with buying strategy? We are 4 guys going on a golf trip and will need 2 rooms and will need 2 beds in each room (one could be a pop out sofa). Should we make the reservation for 3 people per room to verify we get 2 beds? First I check the room price and choose 1 room 3 people and get $64 for the above amenities. Then I choose 2 rooms 4 people and get the same amenities but at $53 per night. Then 2 rooms 5 people and get the same amenities back at $64 per night. But when I choose 1 room 2 people the hotel with the above amenities does not show up which seems odd.Any advice? Thanks

texas80 Posted May 14, 2008 Author Report Posted May 14, 2008 The dates are Oct 16-21 5 nights. I checked again today and the price went up a few dollars for the same hotel and same amenities.3* Hotel in Scottsdale - Amenities; Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s), High-speed Internet Access, Fitness Center, Business Center:1 room 2 people $551 room 3 people $691 room 4 people (hotel with same amenities was not offered)2 rooms 4 people $552 rooms 5 people $69I want to be sure to get 2 beds or at least 1 bed and a pop-out sofa so I was checking availability with different combinations.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
thereuare Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 We are 4 guys going on a golf trip and will need 2 rooms and will need 2 beds in each room2 rooms 5 people $69To ensure both rooms have two beds wouldn't you need to search for 2 rooms/7people (or eight) since for six people it's conceivable that first room has 2 beds (for four people) and the second room has one bed (for two people) which would satisfy the search for six guests. The above is a 'worse case scenario' and it's possible that the Hyatt Place rooms all have sofabeds in them, but for starters, to be on the safe side, does the same hotel show up on HOTWIRE when searching for 2rooms/7or8adults? (you can also try searching for combinations of 7/8adults, as they don't need to all be adults... you could search for 4adults/4children as an example, which may show you a different hotel and/or price then when searching for 8 adults)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. texas80 Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 You're right. I tried 2 rooms 4 adults, 4 children and the same hotel amenities showed up for $55 per room per night. When I did 2 rooms 8 adults the price jumped up to $79 per night.Looking at the Hyatt Place web site it looks like all rooms have a pull out sofa anyway.Do you agree that it is probably the Hyatt Place?? I used your link to perform the search. Thanks again
thereuare Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 The above is a match for the Hyatt Place so that would be our best guess.Glad to see the adult/children combination gives you a lower price and ensures that you get the bedding configuation you're seeking. Thanks in advance for using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. texas80 Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 Thanks for the help. Using 2 rooms for 4 adults and 4 children the price went down to $53 per room night. I went ahead and bought it and got the Hyatt Place. Perfect!!!Thanks again for the help.
