thehuges Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 I'd be interested in getting a good price on a room/suite at Extended StayAmerica Valley View, but I'm guessing it's no longer on the Priceline/Hotwire lists. I don't see any recent posts listing it, and when I check on Hotwire the only 2* option in Near Strip West for my stay dates (6/6/08 - 6/15/08, but I've tried subsets of those dates too) lists a Casino icon, so I know it's not ESA and I assume it's the Wild West (nice price on it - $35 - but I don't want to stay there).Anyway, am I correct to give up on finding a room/suite at ESA Valley View through Priceline/Hotwire? And if so, does anyone know any other way to get a good deal on ESA? The price on their website for my dates is $65/night, which is not too bad considering that it includes 2 weekends. I need a place close to the Rio (I'm there for the World Series of Poker) and I'm staying at the Gold Coast before and after those dates, and then at Caesars when Mrs Huge arrives on June 29, but the Gold Coast is not available (or crazy expensive) from the 6th - 15th, so I thought ESA would be a decent alternative.Any assistance on any of this would be greatly appreciated...-Huge
thereuare Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 What is it about Wild West that is not appearling? Is there some amenity that you like at the ESA that draws you to that property? Would you have an interest in the Palace Station? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. thehuges Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 Thanks for your quick reply, and sorry for my slow one...The main attraction of ESA Valley View is walking distance to the Rio (I'll be playing in the World Series of Poker). I'm staying at the Gold Coast from May 27 - June 6, but they're sold out starting the night of the 6th. I guess having a kitchen in the room is a mild plus, but that's really a tradeoff vs the hotel amenities. I don't know much about the Wild West or Palace Station, but I don't think they're close to the Rio - correct me if I'm wrong. Or let me know if there's another good option. I may end up staying at Imperial Palace, which has a shuttle to the Rio.Just to confirm, is it true that the ESA is gone from the Hotwire and Priceline lists? Thanks for your help...
thereuare Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 Just to confirm, is it true that the ESA is gone from the Hotwire and Priceline lists? Most users of this board are going to Vegas for vacation... which means the majority stay on-strip, and even if staying off-strip, don't look to stay at an ESA. Therefore this property may still be participating but just not reported since it's doesn't fit the criteria that most choose to bid or purchase (we see very few purchases in Vegas at less than 3 stars). As well, if there is another hotel in the zone at the same star level which typically offers lower rates than the ESA, that property could easy 'usurp' the ESA from being won... yet still particiapting. As an example, we just saw the Walt Disney Dolphin Hotel won on priceline... yet it has been 3+ years since we have seen this property won on PRICELINE.NET result: There is no way to confirm that a hotel has stopped participating with either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE.
