Priceline Hotel: hotel area best suited for cruise

Any thoughts as to which area to bid for a 1 or 2 night for cruise out of Miami ?we embark on Jan 2 /09.Would like a 3 or higher but not too spendy.thanks so much for any ideas. :

Downtown is the closest and most frequently used by cruisers... then the Airport followed by South Beach.
