RESJCity Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Sheraton Downtown Dallas (formerly Adams Mark)400 N Olive St, Dallas, TZX 752014/30/08 - 5/4/08$56.00 per nightAmenities listed at time of purchase: Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High Speed Internet Access, Golf NearbyThe skinny:Rooms were fine. Ironing board/iron & hair dryer. Some comments on Travel Advisor were harsh but didn't have broken tiles or a poor room. I had a single King with a bathroom almost as big as the main room. Additional sink in main room.Internet in-room is extra (a pet peave of mine since lower cost hotels provide this free)Not a large channel selection on TV (mostly just news & sports channels with NatGeo and a couple of others thrown in)Coffee pot only accepts the Starbucks pre-filled packets.Indoor pool was cold. Outdoor pool a bit cool. Also indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Two saunas. Decent fitness center with Life Fitness treadmills and weight machines.Downstairs restaurant not fine dining quality but with some fine dining prices. Fine dining restuarant on 38th floor closed when I was there.Pearl Street train station across the street. Had business with others staying at Hyatt Reunion - only 3 or 4 stops away. Train is $3.00 for day pass. Also one stop away from Target, OfficeMax, and others.Excellent location. I walked to McKinney for lots of dining options (about a mile or so but streetcar fairly close if you don't like to walk and it takes you to the West End for excellent restaurants). Only a handfull of nice restaurants downtown and all are good but pricey.Close to Dallas Museum of Art, Crow Oriental Museum and Sculpture Museum. Two blocks from Symphony Hall. Not a 4 star, but can't beat this place for decent rooms and location.
